Highlights

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the most auspicious & arduous pilgrimage. Located in Tibet (China) at an altitude of 21, 778 feet above sea level, Mt. Kailash is believed the abode of Lord Shiva & Mata Parvati. There is lot of stories & mention about Mt. Kailash in our ancient literatures including our holy Purans. According to Vishnu Puran, Lord Shiva meditates in the mountain in a state of absolute bliss.

Interestingly, no one in the world could climb to the peak of Mt. Kailash till now.

The mount Kailash is not only the sacred place for Hindus but the first Jain guru Rishab Dev gained the nirvana at this place only.  Mount Meru is the name given to the Mt. Kailash by Buddhists. This location is referred to as Demchok, or the sacred adobe of the Buddhist Cakrasamvara. This location is referred to as Kang Rampoche or Precious Jewel by the Tibetan people.

Besides, Mt. Kailash another pious attraction nearby is Mansarovar Lake. It is a massive Lake of fresh water. According to Purans, the lake was formed by Lord Bramha himself.  The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra cannot be completed without the holy dip in Mansarovar Lake & Circumambulation of the lake.  If weather is clear, devotees experience mesmerizing views of Mt. Kailash from Mansarovar Lake. The four rivers that originate here are the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali.
