Itinerary

Day 01: Solan - Nohradhar - Jamnala (2,700 m)

Drive: 60 km / 3 hrs  Trek: 7 km / 4 hrs

Arrive in Solan, where our Great Indian Trails (GIT) team will be ready to welcome you. The exact meeting point will be shared once your booking is confirmed. After a short introduction and briefing, we begin our scenic drive to Nohradhar village, the starting point of the Churdhar Peak Trek.

En route, we’ll stop for breakfast (at your own expense) before continuing our beautiful 3-hour mountain drive through winding roads, charming Himachali villages, and rolling Himalayan hills. Depending on road conditions, our vehicle will take you as far as possible—if needed, we may begin trekking from the last accessible road point.

The Churdhar trail immediately immerses you in dense Himalayan forests filled with pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. Today’s trek covers around 8–9 km, offering the perfect blend of gentle climbs, shaded paths, and serene surroundings. Before we start, you’ll receive packed lunch (please carry your own tiffin box for all meals during the trek).

By around 4:00 PM, we reach our forest campsite, a hidden gem surrounded by tall trees and mountain silence. Spend your evening relaxing, soaking in the peaceful vibe of the Himalayas, or chatting with fellow trekkers. After sunset, enjoy a warm dinner under a starlit sky, followed by a brief session by your trek leader to prepare for the next day’s summit climb.

Day 2: Jamnala – Teesri – Churdhar Peak – Jamnala

  • Altitude: around 12,000 feet

  • Distance: 14 Km up and down

  • Trek Duration: 8-9 hour hike

Wake up to the soothing sound of the forest and the aroma of your morning tea, served by our cheerful kitchen staff. After a refreshing start, enjoy a healthy breakfast to fuel up for the most exciting and challenging day of the trek — the summit climb to Churdhar Peak and return to camp.

We begin early today, not only to manage the long trail (approximately 10 hours round trip) but also to catch the best Himalayan views in the morning — when the sky is clear and the light perfectly highlights the snowy peaks.

The first target for the day is Teesri (3,000 m / 10,000 ft), about 5 km from the Jamnala campsite. The gradual trail winds through lush forest paths and open ridges, offering a pleasant two-hour walk. Teesri is known for its strong mountain winds and a few small food stalls that serve local pilgrims visiting Shirgul Dev Temple. Though camping isn’t ideal here due to limited flat ground, Teesri will always stay in your memory as the first point where the snow-clad Himalayan range reveals itself in full glory.

From here, the real adventure begins. The next section to the Churdhar summit involves an ascent of about 600 m (2,200 ft) over a rugged, windswept landscape. As you climb higher, the trail unfolds mesmerizing views that make every step worth the effort. The final stretch involves a steep but short bouldering section leading to the craggy ridge of Churdhar Peak, standing tall at 3,647 m (11,965 ft).

At the summit, a magnificent statue of Lord Shiva faces south, blessing all who reach his abode. If weather permits, trekkers are rewarded with a 270° panoramic view of the Himalayas — from the mighty peaks of Kinnaur, Kedarnath, and Swargarohini to the distant Nanda Devi (7,816 m), India’s second-highest mountain. It’s a moment of awe and silence, where effort turns into emotion.

After soaking in the view, we begin our descent — either retracing the same route or taking an alternate path via the Shirgul Dev Temple, located about 30 minutes below the summit. From there, a left trail traverses around the base and reconnects with the main path. Our trek leader will decide the best route based on weather and time conditions.

Expect to reach camp by around 5:00 PM, just in time to unwind and share stories of your unforgettable summit day over a warm dinner beneath the stars.

Day 03: Jamnala Camp to Nohradhar and drive back to Solan

Wake up to a relaxed Himalayan morning — today’s pace is unhurried and peaceful. After breakfast, we start our descent from Jamnala to Nohradhar, a gentle 7 km trek that takes around 3 hours through beautiful forest trails. With every step down, you’ll relive the memories of the summit day and the mesmerizing views of Churdhar.

We aim to reach Nohradhar by around 1:00 PM, where you can enjoy a hearty lunch at a local food shops at you own. After lunch, we board our vehicle for the drive back to Solan (60 km / 3 hours), tracing the scenic mountain roads one last time.

Our journey concludes at Solan ISBT, where our vehicle will drop you for your onward travel to Chandigarh, Delhi, or your next destination.

Take back not just photographs, but a heart full of mountain memories — of pine-scented trails, Himalayan sunrises, and the peaceful rhythm of the Great Indian Trails.
